Project TitleCoral Review Medical Imaging Peer Review System
Track Code16093
Short Description

Software which enables efficient facilitation of a peer review program for diagnostic reports and images, as part of continuous quality assurance and quality improvement

In a typical hospital or medical imaging clinic, hundreds of thousands of imaging scans (i.e. CT, MRI, X-ray, Ultrasound, etc.) are conducted on patients. These images are then viewed and diagnosed by a physician trained in detecting and diagnosing any abnormalities.   In most hospitals however, there are few or no effective quality assurance measures in place to ensure that these diagnoses are accurate.

Coral Review is a peer review tool which enables quality improvement for diagnostic reports and images.  Through promoting peer training and learning, the tool enables Physicians and Clinical staff to identify and share opportunities for learning and self-improvement. By promoting this learning amongst peers in medical imaging, peer review enables radiologists to identify and share opportunities for growth in their practice, resulting in greater overall quality of care for patients.  Coral Review allows clinicians to participate in peer review processes with minimal interruption to their clinical workflow.
